If you know me well, you will know that I absolutely love to host; whether it be a simple gathering with friends, or throwing an elaborate party. With Valentine's Day just around the corner, it was the perfect opportunity to plan a get together for my gals! Aka. Galentine's :) (5 minute read) I wanted to plan something special for Galentine's, and I had several ideas such as card making for our loved ones, but my favorite was cupcake decorating!! I'm not much of a baker, but I did take a cake decorating class with my sister when I was a teenager and it was a ton of fun. Of course I also wanted to decorate and set the mood for LOVE day, because we can love our friends too <3. For cupcake decorating I prepared dark chocolate cupcakes from Natasha's Kitchen, and two different kinds of frosting; a white chocolate frosting and a pink cream cheese frosting. I also purchased lots of different sprinkles, and garnishes: white chocolate chips, peppermint crush, m&ms, and edible roses. For the frosting, I had one piping bag and 9 different tips, and I made several more piping bags from ziplock bags. For cupcake and frosting recipe click here. As the gals gathered at my house, I had printed a fun Valentine's Day crossword puzzle for them to solve. Although it wasn't a race, my friend Angela managed to win. :) She was done before I even crossed off 5 words. (For the fun crossword click here.) Cupcake decorating with amateurs can get messy, so I used craft paper as a table cloth and painted Xs and Os with a white chalk marker. Simple, yet classy solution. Look at those chocolate covered strawberries, apples and rice crispy treats! My friend Zorianna made them, clearly she works at a bakery because they tasted even better than they looked! :) Cupcake DecoratingWe aren't professionals, but I think they came out really pretty :) Galentine's was a fun and relaxing evening spent with great friends! Oh and we finished off the evening by watching 'How to lose a guy in 10 days' and then some Olympic 2018 figure skating!
XOXO
